All stubs manufactured by Eastern
Analytical are 12.5mm diameter with a 3.1mm spigot machined
from high grade aluminium. These stubs are designed to fit easily,
position reproducible and accurately into scanning electron
microscope stages. Stubs #5, #6 and #8 are for general purpose
set-up and maintenance. Stub #7 is intended for use in calibration
of the Backscattered Electron Detectors response curve. This
stubs prime application is for use with the gunshot residue
(GSR) software package, and the initial stub is supplied with
the GSR package. This stub can also be used in other applications
where precise mapping of BSD video levels is needed to average
atomic numbers.
